Funky pen holders can be pretty additions to a desk, study table or shelf. Jars that have the same width from top to bottom, of about almost 4-5” in length, like peanut butter jars, are perfect for this kind of project. And we can use things such as water-based paints, broken colored tiles or thin colorful-ropes to decorate it.
- If you like to paint, or at least, you can draw pretty objects using water-based paints, you may add funk to a used jar by painting figures on it, such as flowers, dots or any other random pattern. All you need is a brush and some fresh paints in different colors.
- The broken tiles in many different colors that you have kept in the garage can be a great material to create a new personalized pen holder. All you need is some strong glue and the broken tiles. The goal of this project is to create a random mosaic on the jar, using your colorful tiles. And as this can be a challenging creative undertaking, you must have the patience to glue pieces that will fit together. You can also use ropes as an alternative. Thin little ropes that come in various colors may be used to be rolled around the jar, in patterns that you wish.
